Google explained the multi-user support available to tablet users: Some of the other features included in 4.2: enhancements to the lockscreen with widgets and camera access, Miracast wireless display support, multi-user support on tablets, and improvements to Google Now and accessibility. It allows users to snap pictures in every direction “that come together into incredible, immersive photo spheres that put you right inside the scene.” You can check out photo spheres from a few photographers here. Frustrating.Yesterday, Google finally announced Android 4.3, a minor update to 4.2 that included a handful of neat features, including the ability to have more than one user profile.
The other two were WAY off from their actual location. The only one that appeared correctly was the GSV app via bluestacks. I uploaded the same image three times - once to the place for the lake, once to the place for the boat landing, and once using my bluestacks workaround above. For example, I was over a lake about 100m out from the boat landing.
You can only add the photo to a "place" and when google adds to that place, it geolocates it to the primary location of the place. Maybe the UL2GSV toolset will be expanded.Īs for an alternative, I attempted to use the "google maps" upload and that was a huge mess. Hopefully, that same API can be used to somehow add photospheres. Some companies use it for their internal tours, like real estate companies or businesses that want to provide views inside their buildings.
My hope is the API for GSV's back-end remains operable. I hope the functionality will remain after next week.we will see. This works, but it is not maintained so it has quirks.
